From Dr. R.J. Rushdoony's American History series (part 1), addressing in this talk the pre-discovery of America . . . " Rushdoony had some unusual views in the last few decades of his life (not endorsed by WordMp3.com), but he was a brave scholar, and an omnivorous reader. He amassed a personal library of well over 40,000 volumes, often completely reading a book a day (since the age of 14) so thoroughly as to make a handmade index in back of the book. Rushdoony was a "mainstream" scholar into the 1970s, but became part of a somewhat persecuted fringe group by the end of that decade. Listen to this free talk and judge for yourself.
