John is married to Day and has one son, Mason; and is a founding board member of Westminster Academy, Memphis. He works as Director of the Institute for the Arts and Cultural Apologetics (IACA) at Crichton College, and is Director of Music at Second Presbyterian Church in Memphis. He holds degrees in music (B.A.) and orchestral conducting (M.M.) respectively from University of Maryland and Indiana University.
