Kevin D. Kennedy

 Kevin D. Kennedy

Educated at Guilford College, Greensboro, NC and Liberty University, Lynchburg, VA, Kevin D. Kennedy then pursued the Master of Divinity degree at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, NC and served in churches in Roxboro and Durham, N.C.  After serving on the faculty of Liberty University from 1991–1994, Kevin Kennedy pursued his Ph.D. at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY. After earning his Ph.D., he fulfilled his desire to serve the church in the capacity of a seminary professor when he joined the faculty of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, TX in 2002.

While his formal training is in the fields of theology, philosophy, and historical theology his long-time interests in cultural, worldview, political, and economic issues makes him well suited to contribute to discussions on contemporary issues. His father, Charles Darrell Kennedy, introduced Kevin to political and economic issues at an early age when his father was elected to public office in Durham, North Carolina; the first Republican elected to public office in that county since Reconstruction.
