Dr. C. Hassell Bullock studied at Samford University, Columbia Theological Seminary, and earned his Ph.D. at the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion in Cincinnati, Ohio, in 1970. He began teaching at Wheaton College in 1973 and soon became a widely recognized scholar of Hebrew Bible. In 1988 he was appointed to the Franklin S. Dyrness Chair of Biblical Studies, a position he held until his retirement in 2009.
