The He came into a house and the crowds came with him so much that He and his disciples were not even able to eat. 21 When His family heard of this they went to take custody of Him, saying, “He is out of His mind.” 22 Then the teachers of Torah from Jerusalem came down and said, “He is possessed of Ba'al Zeboul” (2 Kings 1:2-3, Ba’al Zebub is not the Lord of heaven, but Lord of the flies). By the power of the Prince of demons (Satan) He casts out demons. 23 Then Jesus called these teachers and spoke with an illustration: “How can Satan cast out Satan?” 24 “A kingdom divided within itself will collapse. 25 Just so, a family divided within itself will also collapse. 26 And if Satan is divided within himself he will collapse and his termination has come. 27 But no one is able to enter the house of a Mighty One and steal his possessions unless he first binds the Mighty One. Then he can take all his possessions. 28 Truly, all sins the sons of men have committed will be forgiven, even all the blasphemies with which they may blaspheme. 29 But whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit can never be forgiven, but is guilty of a sin of the age to come, 30 He said this because they had said, “He has an unclean spirit.” 31 Then Jesus’ family, His mother and his brothers came. Standing outside, they summoned him. 32 A crowd was sitting around him, and they said to him, “Your family (mother and brothers) are outside looking for you.” 33 He replied to them, “Who is my true family; who are my mother and my brothers?” 34 And looking at those sitting around Him, He said, “Here is my true family, my mother and my brothers! 35 For whoever may do the will of God is my family, this one is my brother and sister and mother.” (GS trans.)
