I. We neglect genealogies, but they are worthy of study. Genealogy is chronology made flesh.
A. Adam, Noah, Abram.
B. Death and resurrection in Judah's line.
C. Jabez, man of pain and prosperity.
II. Levitical singers are at the center of the genealogies of 1 Chronicles.
A. Genealogy begins with Adam, climaxes with musicians. We are created to make music.
B. Music and human life.
1. Self-offering in song: Music and priesthood.
2. Fighting with fingers: Music and kingship.
3. Prophesying with lyre and cymbal.
C. We are made to make music, even as music makes us.
