Dr. Thomas W. Davis

Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary - Dr. Davis is an archaeologist with more than two decades of field experience in Cyprus, Egypt, Jordan, and the United States. A specialist in the New Testament world of Paul, he lived on the island of Cyprus for eight years. He currently directs the SWBTS excavations at the early Christian site of Kourion, Cyprus. An expert in the field of biblical archaeology, Dr. Davis published a history of the field entitled Shifting Sands: The Rise and Fall of Biblical Archaeology (Oxford Press, 2004). He has published numerous articles in the areas of New Testament archaeology, Cypriot archaeology, biblical archaeology, and American archaeology.
