This paper examines the account of David's administration of Saul's former estate in light of Ancient Near Eastern (ANE) cultural and legal practices. Engaging Old Testament studies, historical context, and biblical ethics, the presentation evaluates whether David's actions reflect scandal or justice within their historical and theological framework.
