This workshop will take a closer look at Julia Smith's (1792–1886) translation of Scripture in comparison to today's modern English version. Although the translation of the Bible is an ancient practice dating back to the 3rd century B.C., female Bible translators have been a rare and relatively modern happening. This session will present and reflcet on Julia Smith's translation of Scripture as perhaps the first Bible to be translated by a woman.

A speaker for the 76th Annual meeting of the Evangelical Theological Society.
