Not By Bread Alone

"Man does not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God." - Matt. 4:4

Bread Alone: Can man live by bread alone? Satan would have us believe so. But true living is not physically surviving off of food. Placing too much focus on the food we eat demonstrates we worship our stomach, not God. Some Christians in our communion have been destroying the work of God by sacrificing our unity on the altar of their specific food choices. But the kingdom of God is not about food and drink, but about righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit. Do not destroy the work of God for the sake of food.

The Bread is Not Alone: Satan would also have us believe that food by itself gives physical life, and God gives spiritual life. But God is the source and giver of all life, and His life giving power gives life through bread. The Bread is not alone disconnected from God. The physical and the spiritual are interconnected, like the celtic knot. God holds all things together by His Word...Jesus is the Word.

Hungering for God: Jesus would rather die of starvation than sin against God. Would you? Trusting God and placing Him first even before our own life is how we truly live. What is the most important thing in your life? To keep it you must avoid Satan's schemes, and trust God, who is your very life.
