“Minor Prophets” - The Book of the Twelve (part 1)
Text: Acts 7:42-43 - But God turned away from them and gave them over to worship the host of heaven, as it is written in the book of the prophets: ‘It was not to me that you offered slain animals and sacrifices forty years in the wilderness, was it, house of Israel? 7:43 But you took along the tabernacle of Moloch and the star of the god Rephan, the images you made to worship, but I will deport you beyond Babylon.’ (Citing Amos.)
Stephen (Acts 7), by citing “The Book of the Prophets” or “The Book of the Twelve” he alludes to the two themes: 1) “The Day of the Lord” which occurs 13 times (5 times in Joel alone); and 2) God is jealous of HIs Bride and inspects Her. (see Numbers 5ff).
