From the series Exposition of James - Yakov (James) was the brother of our Lord Jesus, son of Mary, and refers to the "faith of our Lord Jesus." His book (though sometimes thought controversial) is a powerful exhortation to God's people to live the faith of Jesus. In very Hebraic fashion James presents practical challenges very pertinent to the first century Jewish context: Testing, True Religion, Tongue, and Tenacity.
