From the welcome:
Today is Pentecost, the 50th day from Easter, commemorating the first Pentecost on which the Holy Spirit was poured out on the Church, with the sound of a rushing wind, and tongues of fire upon them!
But it’s also a day on the Church Calendar commemorating the visit of Mary to Elizabeth [May 31], when they were both pregnant. The Visitation and Pentecost will not fall on the same day again until 2093, and I doubt I’ll be preaching then, so we’ll also take the opportunity today to also look at the way the Spirit was at work even as Jesus was in the womb.
