Was Bonhoeffer an Evangelical?
Was Dietrich Bonhoeffer one of us? Both liberal and conservation Christians have claimed this influential 20th century pastor, theologian and martyr of Nazis German as their own. Dr. Stephen Nichols explains Bonhoeffer was indeed on the Evangelical team; a man who held and fought for Christian orthodoxy. This was a man proclaiming the historical and divine nature of Scripture and of Christ. Despite his surrounds, Bonhoeffer remained grounded by his Lutheran traditions, resting his life and faith upon the resurrection of Christ and the Word of God.
Presented at the 2013 Evangelical Theological Society's Eastern Region meeting, March 1-2, 2013 (Friday and Saturday), at Liberty Baptist Seminary (Lynchburg, VA), featuring key note speaker, Daniel B. Wallace.
