“Apologetics in a Pluralistic Culture”

All members of ETS are invited to submit a paper on the conference theme. Papers on other topics will be welcome as well, especially those on the theme of our national Annual Meeting in 2017, “The Trinity.” Any ETS member of any rank is welcome to submit a paper proposal, including those outside the Eastern Region.

Your proposal should have a title and a brief (one paragraph) description of the intended paper.  Please indicate your present position and how long you have been serving in this post, and/or your degree program and state of completion.

Proposals must be submitted to (President) Eric Silverman via email ( in text, Word or PDF format by noon on January 15th, 2017.  We will let you know whether or not your proposal has been accepted no later than January 24th.

Student Paper Competition
Any student currently enrolled (either part-time or full-time) in theological study in the Eastern
Region is welcome to compete. The Eastern Region includes Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Delaware, New Jersey and the District of Columbia. Undergraduates are welcome to enter, but will not be judged separately from graduate students.

Papers previously submitted as coursework are eligible for this competition, but published works (either in print or online journals) are not. Students need not be members of ETS to participate, but should be aware that successful papers will be consonant with the ETS Doctrinal Basis (printed below). Papers must be submitted electronically in PDF format by noon on Feb. 15, 2017, and should run no longer than 30 pages (excluding endnotes and bibliography).
